Goofball Gallery

Where the pretty get silly

Goofball Gallery is a boutique video and photo series specializing in elegant, comedic food fight performance. Inspired by old-school slapstick but updated for modern sensibilities, we produce stylized scenes that blend character, timing, and deliciously dramatic mess.

We are always seeking talented actors who love to play characters that can exchange a little witty banter while getting “stylishly undone”—capable of taking a pie in the face or some chocolate pudding down the shirt and still ready to deliver the next beat.

How does it work?

We work with skilled and talented actors to bring short (5-7 minute) slapstick comedy scenes to life. We run through the written screenplay, conduct dry dress rehearsals, and then play out the messy fun on camera—all within one shooting day.

We shoot in a full-amenity production studio in Chicago with full shower, changing area, and plenty of space to unwind during downtime. We also provide wardrobe so your own clothes stay stain-free and most shoots offer hair and makeup to have you looking camera ready without the effort.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Definitely! Depending on creative demands of the scene (Will you need to memorize lines? Will you be getting messy?), performers can expect to be offered anywhere between $400 - $700 for a 4-5 hour shoot day.

  • Probably. If you're a woman with a strong on-camera presence, a good sense of humor, and the ability to stay in character while things get chaotic, then yes, you'd be a great fit.

You don’t need extensive improv training or comedy experience. What matters most is your willingness to commit to the moment, take direction, and have fun with stylized, slow-burn slapstick. Our best performers are expressive, grounded, and unafraid to get a little silly (and a lot messy) in front of the camera.

If you're confident, playful, and open to trying something different—you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

  • Absolutely not. Goofball Gallery was inspired by TV sitcoms and classic movies. As such, it is committed to similar content standards. At its most mature, actors may undress down to underwear should the scene call for it, but these are rare cases.

  • We sell edited videos of Goofball Gallery scenes on our Vimeo On Demand Store. Behind the scenes photos or clips for trailers may be used on our social media or website. See this very site or the Goofball Gallery Instagram for examples of public use.

And if you should see a use for the scene in your own acting reel, don’t hesitate to ask for a free copy!

  • Not at all! You’re totally welcome to apply solo.

We do love casting pairs who already know and trust each other—it can make things extra fun on set. But plenty of Goofball Gallery scenes feature actors meeting for the first time, and they still end up covered in pudding and laughing like old friends.

Whether you bring a buddy or come on your own, we make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and in-the-know before we roll. The only thing you really need is a good attitude and a willingness to get messy by whoever your scene partner for the day is.

  • Unfortunately, "Goofball Gallery” is strictly for those with some background in acting. Even our simplest scenes do call for basic character work and line reading. Goofball Gallery is NOT a modeling gig.

However, if you are a model and want to get messy for cash, please considering signing up for Project 20M. No acting experience required, just a love for games and slime.

  • We believe information is key to a fun and happy Goofball Gallery. This starts with a brief phone screening with any potential performers so they can get to know the director and get answers to any questions they have. You will even get a copy of the written scene to see if the plot, dialog, and messes are for you.

Once we confirm a shoot with you, you’ll receive a call sheet containing information about the shoot and anything else you need to know before shoot day. And during the shoot day dress rehearsal, we’ll always be be seeking your consent/sign off on any beats and choreography before confirming them as part of the messy take.

Goofball Gallery is a low-budget independent endeavor, so the least we can do is make sure that everyone who participates has the time of their life!
